Effective August 1, 2013, provisions of the “Return to Work” legislation, 40 ILCS 5/15-139.5, take effect and will impose financial obligations on Universities that employ State Universities Retirement System (SURS) annuitants that meet certain criteria.  In addition, SURS requires state Universities to identify and report all SURS annuitants who are re-employed and provide specific information about the length of employment and earnings received.
