The U.S. Department of Labor’s new overtime rules, scheduled to go into effect December 1, 2016 have been put on hold. The rules, which have been delayed by a preliminary court injunction, would affect some SIU Civil Service and Administrative Professional employees based upon their salaries and responsibilities.
Due to the injunction, SIU will not move forward to implement the federal rules on December 1st, maintain the current exempt status of employees who would be impacted.
