Current Civil Service Vacancies

This is a description of the civil service vacancies at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale for the week of

May 20, 2013.

Applications and all qualifying credentials such as official transcripts, certifications, licenses and DD 214 must be submitted in person for the current vacancies no later than 12:00 noon, Thursday, May 23, 2013.

Office hours are: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Interviewing hours with employment counselors are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Location:  Miles Hall, 1255 Douglas Drive, SIUC, Carbondale, IL 62901

All Civil Service examinations given under the State Universities Civil Service System shall be open to all

applicants who are citizens of or residents in the State of Illinois, and who can qualify by experience and training for the position for which application is made.

There are also a number of civil service classifications which are referred to as continuous post. The listing of continuous post classifications is available at Employment Services, Miles Hall, 1255 Douglas Drive, Carbondale or at http://hr.siu.edu/html/cscontpost.html. Vacancies in these classifications are not advertised. Only those candidates already on the employment register may be considered if there is a vacancy. Interested applicants should review this list and apply for testing. Persons are requested to bring their application and copies of their college transcripts and/or veteran's discharge papers (DD 214), if applicable.
